Helen K. Garber

Helen K. Garber is now working in mixed media using photographs from her archives, book pages from her personal library, twine and encaustic on reclaimed wood panels. One piece was exhibited and acquired by the Dublin Museum of Modern Art, Ireland, in 2011. dnj Gallery, Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, CA exhibited Encaustic Noir as a solo show in early 2012. Two works are included in the upcoming Incognito exhibit, Santa Monica Museum , Santa Monica, CA and one in the Bonham’s Los Angeles, CA Made in California auction, both 2012.

Helen has directed a number of group installations that documented Los Angeles over the past few years. She is presently directing the inaugural NoirFest Santa Monica, a 3-month long, citywide, interactive cultural festival celebrating Noir as the unifying theme. (http://www.noirfestsm.com/)

Her next project is a collaboration with the Venice History Society to present the exhibit, Venice, Yesterday and Today, diptychs of vintage and her modern images of Venice, California….
