Photographs are able to bring us from what is real, what we actually see, to how we feel. Flowers dream of light, and bridges lead us gently to the next place…in our minds, across, to understand the meaning, and whisper to us secrets of the past, for the future…
“Jennifer has employed a 4×5 camera…for her toned and tinted still-lifes of flowers. Her floral series features portraits of flowers grown in her garden, as well as gardens of her friends. She acknowledges her subjects as sentient beings, who, like human beings, have traveled through time and space on earth, her photographs reflecting a precise moment of that life lived. She describes her process as a meditation, and has long tempered her monochromatic, sepia-toned prints with subtle, translucent hand tinting to create images of a timeless and poetic sensibility…” Cynde Randall
